I was more than scared with the horseback ride, but these are the horses at the ranch.
Life is full of crazy moments, ups and downs and mixed up plans. My life changed in September 2008 when my fiancé was killed in Iraq. Nothing like what I planned, I continued forward. Support from friends and family, as well as my inner strength kept me moving. Now married and raising a pup, I am taking life one moment at a time, living in the present, and working to be happier every day.

Adventures in Georgia
I went to Helen, Georgia last weekend to visit a friend. "Friend" doesn't seem like the right word really. Celeste lost her husband a little over a year ago; he was in GRIM troop with Mike. She called me offer help and an ear several months ago and since we both need little vacations to get out of town for a little bit, we decided to meet up. It was a great 3-day weekend including sleeping in, feeding bears, my first horseback ride, hiking to a waterfall, meeting great people and a little bit of talk-therapy.

What a bittersweet trip - I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time, the pictures are beautiful. How great that you got to get away! But it makes my heart sad that you both went through heartache.
Wow Stacey - those are gorgeous pictures. I'm glad you have found a wonderful friend to help you through the heartache. And that you were able to get away as well!
Glad you had a good getaway!
